The IMILAB EC5 is a WiFi smart security camera designed for outdoor video surveillance. It combines a floodlight with a rotating camera head, offering 360° coverage and smart illumination that adjusts based on schedule or motion detection. With 2K/3MP resolution and colour night vision, it provides clear images around the clock. Key area detection lets you focus on specific zones, while the smart siren and instant notifications help you stay informed. The camera supports Wi-Fi and LAN connections, and offers flexible storage via cloud or local MicroSD card up to 256GB. Its IP66 waterproof rating means it can withstand outdoor conditions, making it suitable for a variety of locations. The EC5 also received a 2022 iF Design Award, recognising its design quality.

Features and Construction

The IMILAB EC5 is built for outdoor use, with a weather-resistant housing and a motorised base that enables 360° rotation. Its floodlight and camera work together to provide illumination and surveillance. The camera captures video at 2K/3MP resolution and supports H.265/H.264 compression. It connects via Wi-Fi or LAN, and can store footage locally on a MicroSD card up to 256GB or in the cloud.

Material and Build

The source text does not specify the exact materials used, but the IP66 waterproof rating indicates a sealed construction that protects against dust and water jets. This makes the camera suitable for outdoor installation where it may be exposed to rain or moisture. The white finish allows it to blend with many exterior walls.

Size and Practical Fit

No dimensions are provided in the source text. However, the camera is designed to be mounted on a wall or ceiling, and its 360° rotation means it can cover a wide area from a single position. The floodlight feature may require a power source, but the source does not specify power requirements.

Uses and Placement

The EC5 is intended for outdoor video surveillance, such as monitoring driveways, gardens, or entrances. Its smart illumination and colour night vision make it useful for low-light conditions. The key area detection feature allows you to set specific zones for alerts, reducing unnecessary notifications.

Event or Professional Use

For businesses or events, the camera can provide additional security coverage. Its 360° tracking and instant notifications can help monitor activity in real time. The IP66 rating means it can be used in temporary outdoor setups, provided it is within Wi-Fi range or connected via LAN.

Everyday Home Use

For home users, the EC5 offers a way to keep an eye on your property. You can set activity zones to focus on important areas, such as a front door or driveway. The smart siren can act as a deterrent, and colour night vision helps identify details after dark.

Benefits and Buying Value

The IMILAB EC5 provides a combination of video surveillance and lighting in one unit. Its multiple storage options and connectivity features offer flexibility. The 2022 iF Design Award suggests a considered design, though the source does not detail specific design aspects.

Reuse and Low Maintenance

The camera is designed for outdoor use and has an IP66 rating, which means it should require minimal maintenance beyond occasional cleaning. The MicroSD card storage can be reused, and cloud storage offers ongoing options. No specific maintenance instructions are provided in the source.

Why Choose This Product

If you need an outdoor camera with 360° coverage, smart illumination, and colour night vision, the EC5 is a candidate. Its key area detection and instant notifications help tailor alerts to your needs. The support for both Wi-Fi and LAN, plus local and cloud storage, adds flexibility. The iF Design Award may be a consideration for those who value design recognition.
